Names are hard, but we're ready

After a 18 months of ideating, model training and building, we're live. EasyAnnounce allows people's names to be clearly heard along with the rest of the PA announcement across environments, from airport gates to tourist resorts, waiting rooms and beyond. We're thinking big!

Getting a name right alongside an announcement sounds simple: in practice it's anything but. Passenger names span multiple languages, scripts, regions and phonetic traditions. A single flight can carry Arabic, Mandarin, Thai, and Finnish names - all of which need to be spoken clearly and respectfully at any moment.

Why we built it

We've all heard terrible PA announcements, with customer agents trying their best to say a myriad of different names, alongside an announcement that may be in their second language. A mispronounced name isn't just an inconvenience; but along with a misheard announcement it can mean a missed final boarding call or even moment of disrespect. But it doesn't have to be like this. With advances in AI and text-to-speech, why should we still be expecting anyone to speak and deliver these manually?

That's where our neural name engine and multilingual stack comes in. EasyAnnounce can detect the likely language and region of a name, and generate a natural-sounding pronunciation. Crucially, we don't stop here, we generate the entire announcement with the names all included, said in the most likely pronunciation, with improved clarity and consistency, delivered to any location.

How it works

Under the hood, EasyAnnounce is doing a lot of quiet but niche work. It automatically detects the language, applies own name pronunciation technology and IP, and synthesizes a natural-sounding final result, without any manual input from you. It also supports most major languages beyond English, with translations generated and offered automatically.

Everything is accessible via a role based web app for quick access by your teams, or through a simple but secure REST API, making it easy to integrate with any existing PA infrastructure - whether that's an airport, a stadium, a hospital, or retail park.
